DUTIES:

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Media Arts and Technology department at the Borough of Manhattan Community College seeks adjunct faculty to teach sections of MMA 100 - Foundations of Digital Graphic Design.

MMA 100 teaches principles of visual design and communication using applications from the Adobe Creative Cloud.

The faculty member will teach special sections of this college-level course to high school students from The Manhattan Early College School for Advertising (MECA).

MECA students earn college credits while still in high school and have the opportunity to complete an Associate's Degree from the Borough of Manhattan Community College.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching high school students.

Open sections:

TuTh 8:30AM - 10:10AM

TuTh 10:30AM - 12:10PM

TuTh 12:20PM - 2:00PM

TuTh 2:10PM - 3:50PM

Opportunities to teach up to two sections are available.

Classes start January 27th.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Adjunct Lecturer: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related fields, and the ability to teach successfully.

Master's in graphic design, fine arts, or related fields and/or at least 3 years of high school or college teaching experience in these areas preferred.

Adjunct Assistant Professor: Ph.D., MFA, MPS, or another terminal degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related fields, or equivalent experience.

Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

At least 3 years of high school or college teaching experience in these areas preferred.
