DUTIES:

Borough of Manhattan Community College seeks an experienced individual who has the ability to work independently and as part of a successful

BMCC Learning Academy team serving a diverse student population. The ideal candidate will provide a supportive environment and have the ability to easily build rapport and professional relationship with students, staff and the community.

BMCC Learning Academy (BLA) offers students an integrated and comprehensive system of support from the point of admission to graduation or transfer out. The key program features include a consolidated block schedule with high impact activities, faculty mentorship, comprehensive advisement, academic success workshops and connection to all student support services and campus resources.

Reporting to the Director of the BMCC Learning Academy, the successful candidate will be responsible for the CUNY Title Overview, but not limited to the following:

Communicate information about the BLA program and its services to prospective students and their families.

Participate in recruitment events at appropriate locations both off campus and at BMCC.

Conduct information sessions and intake appointments to inform, screen and register students for the BLA program.

Create, maintain and update promotional and informational materials.

Assist in the development of marketing and social media strategies to advertise the BLA program.

Cultivate and maintain relationship with CUNY pre-matriculation programs, CBOs and High Schools.

Assist with the collection and analysis of recruitment data.

Provide information and maintain current information about College programs and degree requirements.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW:

Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a College's specialized academic program.

Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration

Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities

Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students

Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards

Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures

May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget

Performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required and two years of relevant experience preferred.

Understanding of the needs and challenges facing students from diverse urban backgrounds.

Experience working in collaboration with students, staff/ faculty and administration.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, within the department and with faculty and other administrators.

Experience with event planning and promotion.

Experience in marketing/advertising, social media and facilitating outreach efforts preferred.

Strong organizational, project management, communication and facilitation skills.

Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of student activities.

Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Access and Excel); and aptitude to learn new systems as needed.

Experience with CUNYfirst or PeopleSoft/Oracle student information system preferred.

SALARY:

$39,282 – 48,210
