DUTIES:

GENERAL DUTIES:  

 
Writes and prepares written material on College issues and event and provides professional support to College communications programs.

Researches and writes items in a variety of formats for publication in print, web sites, and presentations

Participates in planning communications projects and contributes to decisions on content and style

May assume editorial responsibility for communications projects; reviews and edits the work of others

May coordinate production of written materials

Adheres to journalistic standards for fact-finding, research, verification, and style

Performs related duties as assigned.

 
CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION  
 
Writes press releases, contacts reporters, creates press lists, and submits through online press service.

Coordinates interviews with BMCC faculty, students, and staff with external journalists.

Writes stories, working with videographer or photographer for the BMCC website.

Writes marketing copy with recruitment focus for newspapers and online services.

Coordinates and edits listings on the BMCC Calendar and the CUNY Calendar. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

 
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.  

SALARY: $42,873 - $74,133
