Develops and administers processes and policies regarding Human Resources.

Advises employees and managers on Human Resources policies and guidelines; provides a high level of customer service in assisting members of the College community

Supervises and administers one or more human resources programs such as recruiting, pay administration, employee orientation, employee benefits, data entry and recordkeeping, and performance appraisal/reappointment practices

Maintains an in-depth understanding of CUNY rules and regulations, relevant laws and guidelines, collective bargaining agreements, and College policies, and applies these to his/her areas of responsibility

Investigates regarding sensitive employee issues or complaints 

Helps create innovative communications such as manuals, web pages, or employee meetings and provides these to the College community

Performs related duties as assigned.

Analyze position requirements of professional job vacancies and develop a recruitment plan using various social media forums such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and various job boards. Proactively source and screen qualified candidates for vacancies using social media. This includes discussing with the supervisor his/her needs, pre-screening resumes via digital professional websites and job boards, and soliciting applicants on the phone and via social media.

Develop a recruitment tracking database for professional vacancies and ensure sourced vacancies are accurately tracked in the recruitment data system.

Maintain BMCC's social media presence up to date and accurate.

Take incoming calls and online inquiries from job seekers who have been sourced through social media or have heard of a position at the college via social media and contact the college directly.

Research and target new digital sourcing channels.


Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Must be well versed in digital media, online marketing, and social media strategies and best practices

Minimum two years digital recruiting experience preferred; experience with positions in higher education a plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to make people feel at ease and comfortable throughout the recruitment process

Self-motivated, target driven, and passionate about recruitment

SALARY: $42,873 - $74,133
