Provides career counseling and assessment and provides comprehensive career services programs.

Provides employment and career counseling to students; may provide services to alumni

Administers and interprets career and vocational assessment instruments

Prepares and facilities workshops on career development topics such as job search strategies, resume and cover letter preparation, and interviewing techniques

Develops and maintains relationships with employers that can lead to recruitment and hiring at the campus

Assists with planning and presenting career fairs, speakers, employer visits, and other events

Collaborates with faculty and student support service professions to offer specialized programs and activities

Trains and supervises interns and office staff

Performs other duties as assigned.

The Career Senior Advisor will report to the Director of the Center for Career Development. Provide career counseling and employment preparation services to students and alumni; help students to develop job search and interviewing skills; assist with the administration and interpretation of career and vocational assessments; help students to write resumes and other documents required for employment; develop and facilitate workshops on career development topics; coach students on how to market themselves; and practice mock interviews with students. Provide assistance with planning and presenting career fairs and other career development events and activities. Assist with the training and supervision of part-time office staff and work study students. Collaborate with both Academic and Student affairs to offer specialized programs, services and activities that support student success.


Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in student personnel, higher education, or a related field. Four years of full-time work experience in a higher education setting required. Candidates must have excellent organizational, presentation, written and oral communication skills; have the ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast paced, deadline driven environment; and possess an understanding of the cultural, social, and educational needs of a multi-ethnic campus community. Interest in social media, designing promotional and informational materials highly desirable. In addition, must be able to initiate projects and be available to work some evenings and weekends.

SALARY: $42,873 - $74,133
