Supervises activities in an operational unit supporting Admissions and/or Enrollment.

Oversees staff activities; plans and monitors employee scheduling and coverage and coordinates training

Serves as liaison to one or more departments providing student support services, such as Financial Aid

Coordinates selection process activities such as applications review, verification of information, and timely forwarding of data to other CUNY areas

Coordinates mailings and other communications

Monitors activity and reports on both transactions and outcomes

Completes projects to improve services and enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness

Performs related duties as assigned.

The Admissions Specialist is a member of the Office of Admissions and will report to the Director of Admissions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Supervising all aspects related to the processing of prospective student files and their submission to The City University of New York's (CUNY) University Application Processing Center (UAPC).

Serving as a recruiter for high school, community and corporate agencies.

Providing support for College admissions enrollment/retention and persistence operations.

Partnering with other college offices in assisting to organize strategies and processes for the recruitment/registration and retention of students, with special emphasis on special programs (e.g. Freshman Learning Academies; CUNY Start; ASAP; etc.).

Working with Student Affairs to identify and select students for scholarships.

Collaborating with Student Affairs to contact students in good standing that have "stopped out" and discuss readmission options to encourage degree completion.

Serving on college committees as required.

Providing assistance with major college-wide events such as commencement, orientation, registration, and honors convocation.
