Supports projects, initiatives, and activities within an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC).

Organizes office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information

Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections

Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities

Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing

Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department

May supervise office staff and student workers

Performs related duties as assigned.

Reports to the MEOC Executive Director, the Manhattan Education Opportunity Center is seeking mature coordinator who is capable of responding appropriately to safety and security issues of varying urgency.

Represents the Office of the Executive Director in the evening and on weekends.

Serves as the contact person for all facilities, staffing and security issues in the evening and on weekends when the manager of those areas is not on site.

Ensures that all of the resources that are needed to support the administrative and academic enterprises (e.g. classrooms, instructors, computer labs) are in place.

Develops written incident reports as appropriate.

Evening and weekend hours required.  This position is located at the 125th street Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center in Harlem.


Bachelor's degree required.
Experience with excellent organizational and social skills highly preferred.

SALARY: $41,623 - $53,241
