What we do

The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) serves and supports the campus by providing information and guidance to inform planning, assessment, instruction, services and research on campus.

The 2012-2014 BMCC Factbook is now available online. Click on the link at the left to launch the online version, to print specific pages, to create your own annotated bookmarks, or to download the full PDF file. Factbooks from prior years are also available online in the "Factbooks" archive.

Quick Facts are compliled at the end of each semester when all data are available. These one-page pdf files can be downloaded or printed. The Quick Facts provide much of the basic data is frequently requested for government and other institutional reports.

BMCC Momentum Study.The OIRA staff initiated a new project to track the progress of BMCC new freshmen cohorts according to their initial preparation levels as determined by the CUNY placement tests.

Services for Faculty and Staff

BMCC's OIRA staff are ready to assist faculty and adminstrative areas in developing practical and effective assessment measures for student learning outcomes or institutional effectiveness. Please email us at ins@bmcc.cuny.edu to schedule a meeting to talk about your plans.
