Christine Larsen

Executive Vice President - First Data

Christine Larsen has served as First Data’s chief operations officer (COO) since June 2013. Larsen leads the company’s global operations, overseeing 13,000 employees. She is driving a global initiative to re-engineer the company’s systems, processes and procedures in order to improve the total client experience and drive revenue growth. Larsen reports to CEO Frank Bisignano and serves on First Data’s Management Committee.

Before joining First Data, Larsen was executive vice president at JPMorgan Chase & Co., responsible for firm-wide process improvement and enterprise program management. In that role, Larsen managed the response to the Consent Order in the mortgage bank, and the integration efforts of Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual.

Prior to that, Larsen was COO for Treasury and Securities Services, overseeing more than 20,000 operations and technology resources globally in payments, trade and investor services. She also led critical operations for JPMorgan Chase, including check and item processing during the migration to imaging.

Before her JPMorgan Chase tenure, Larsen was managing director at Citigroup serving in multiple leadership roles, including head of high-net-worth operations at Smith Barney, co-head of global operations for the Global Investment Bank and head of Client Delivery for Global Transaction Services. Citi Global Transaction Services was a transaction processing business with a global network spanning 90 countries that provided cash management, trade, securities and fund services to financial institutions and corporate clients around the world. Prior, Larsen was a senior technology manager in Accenture’s New York Financial Services practice.

Larsen earned a master’s degree in information management from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell College. A passionate advocate of educational access for all, Larsen led programs such as JPMorgan Chase’s collaboration Syracuse University and the University of Delaware, developing a cross-disciplinary curriculum to train students for largescale computing in global enterprises. She co-founded Citigroup’s Global Transaction Services Women’s Council and founded First Data Women’s Leadership Council, which both provide educational and business sponsored programs to help women succeed.

Larsen serves as a Trustee of Syracuse University and Chair of the Foundation Board of the Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY).
