Shirley Fiterman

Shirley Fiterman graduated from the University of Minnesota, and with her husband Miles, Q. Fiterman, raised four children , while helping build a national housing business that provided ready-to-assemble homes in 36 states. She now resides in both Minneapolis and Palm Beach, FL. Her philanthropic efforts in the fields of art, culture, medicine and education are extensive.

She is the former President of Board of the Norton Gallery of Art in Palm Beach. She serves as a board member of the Miles and Shirley Fiterman Charitable Foundation, the Miles and Shirley Fiterman Endowment Fund for Digestive Diseases, and the Minnesota College Art and Design, where she founded the Associates program that supports artistic endeavor.

She is a long time trustee of the Borough of Manhattan Community College Foundation. Together with her husband Miles, she gave the largest single donation to a Community College by donating a building in September 1993 to BMCC. Located at 245 Greenwich Street in lower Manhattan, the building is now named Fiterman Hall.
