A native New Yorker, Ray O’Keefe has had a successful 44 year career specializing in commercial real estate brokerage and consulting for major corporations, as well as for property owners and investors. He spent 28 years at Cushman & Wakefield, where in addition to his brokerage accomplishments he served as their Manager of the Downtown Office, New York Regional Director and a member of the National Management Committee and Board of Directors.
Mr. O’Keefe moved to Grubb & Ellis in 1996 as President of that firm with responsibility for all of their business in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut area. From 2001 to 2003, he moved to a corporate position with oversight for all international operations for Grubb & Ellis.
Mr. O’Keefe is a past Chairman of the Young Men’s and Women’s Real Estate Association of New York, Inc., where he was named that organization’s Young Man of the Year in 1979 and Senior Man of the Year in 1986. He is a former Chairman of the Brokerage Division of the Real Estate Board of New York and was recipient of the Real Estate Board’s Louis Smadbeck Memorial Broker Recognition Award, and the Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award.
Mr. O’Keefe is the founder and former chairman of the Borough of Manhattan Community College Foundation board of directors. And, as President of the James T. Lee Foundation, Mr. O’Keefe has awarded over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarship support to BMCC.
