We have some exciting news to share with you! BMCC is continuing its successful Tuition Waiver program this winter 2018 intersession. To be eligible, students must be matriculated at BMCC, New York State residents and U.S. citizens or permanent residents at the time the waiver is applied.
Below are details on the various tuition waiver types and additional eligibility requirements:
Eligible students who have ten (10) or fewer credits left to complete their associate degree requirements will be able to receive a tuition waiver for one of their remaining courses in winter 2018.
Eligible students who have a minimum BMCC GPA of 2.0, earned at least 12 credits and were enrolled full-time in fall 2017 will be able to receive a tuition waiver for a winter 2018 course that counts toward their listed BMCC degree.
Eligible students who have a minimum BMCC GPA of 2.0, earned at least 12 credits and were enrolled at least half-time (6 credits) in fall 2017 will be able to receive a tuition waiver for a winter 2018 course that counts toward their listed BMCC degree.
Eligible students who enroll in a credit-bearing mathematics, computer programming, Introduction to Psychology (PSY 100), Introduction to Multimedia (MMP 100) or Logic (PHI 110) course that counts toward completion of their listed BMCC degree in winter 2018 will be able to receive a tuition waiver for the course and any associated lab course.
Incoming students who have no remedial requirements are invited to get a head start on their degree completion and receive a tuition waiver for their first credit-bearing course at BMCC.
Eligible students who have successfully completed the CUNY Start program in fall 2017 will be able to receive a tuition waiver for a credit-bearing winter intersession course that counts toward their degree completion.
Winter 2018 intersession courses will begin on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Students are eligible to receive only one (1) waiver for a class during the winter 2018 intersession. Please visit the Academic Calendar for more deadline information.
Please note that only the tuition for the course will be waived and students will be responsible for all fees and materials, such as textbooks. To help with transportation costs, students who receive a tuition waiver will also receive a 30-day MetroCard. To qualify for the tuition waiver and the 30-day MetroCard, students must register for the winter 2018 course no later than December 1, 2017. As funding is limited, waivers will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. If students are granted a winter tuition waiver, they will receive a notification to their BMCC email address by December 15, 2017. Please note, students must complete the winter course. If they drop or fail to attend, the waiver may be revoked and they will be responsible for the tuition.
