The Excelsior Scholarship

What is the Excelsior Scholarship?

The Excelsior Scholarship a New York State funded grant program that, when combined with other grants and scholarships, will allow eligible full-time students to attend BMCC tuition free. If you receive the Excelsior Scholarship, the money will come directly to the college for payment of your tuition.

The goals of this program are to promote on-time degree completion, increase graduation rates, lower student out-of-pocket tuition costs, and reduce the need for student loan borrowing.

For an associate degree student, on-time graduation means completing your degree in no more than 4 traditional full-time semesters.
