Federal Pell Grant (PELL)

Can I get PELL for summer or winter session classes?

You may be eligible receive PELL for attending either the summer or winter session. Summer Pell Grants will be paid from any remaining Pell eligibility you may have left over from the prior academic year.  Winter session classes will count towards your total enrollment in the spring term for payment of a spring term Federal Pell Grant.

A summer PELL estimate may be used to defer your summer tuition bill. However, if an estimate cannot be made at summer registration, you may have to pay your summer tuition and receive an appropriate refund at the conclusion of the summer session. Check with the Bursar prior to your summer payment deadline to see if a summer PELL estimate is available.

Remember that payment of a summer or winter session Pell Grant depends on your attendance in the classes you are enrolled in. Dropping or withdrawing from classes may reduce or cancel your award and result in a tuition balance owed the college. If you receive PELL for enrolled classes you fail to attend, you will have to return those funds immediately to the college.
