Family Orientation (Family GPS)

Getting Prepared to Start Family orientation is designed to engage the family members of incoming students through two vehicles; an on-campus event and a monthly newsletter. Family GPS on-campus event invites family members of students who have attended Student or In-Person GPS to campus for a ninety minute to two hour experience. Family GPS involves a presentation from the New & First Year Student Specialist, the Dean of Students, and a panel of students typically employed as GPS Navigators and/or Welcome Ambassadors. Family GPS monthly newsletter is coordinated to offer tips to family members on how to support their student. The tips directly correlate with what is on the academic calendar as well as general trends within higher education (e.g. FAFSA awareness in January/February).

If you’d like to sign up for the Family Newsletter, please e-mail with your request and you will be added to the distribution list of the newsletter.
