Responsibilities for Students' Matters

Grading

Faculty are expected to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the college’s Grading Policies. The BMCC Office of the Registrar has a dedicated Faculty Resources page that includes a Grade Assignment Chart as well as a Grade Clarification Memo, and other related resources and instructions for faculty.

Academic Integrity

Faculty are expected to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the Rules and Regulations regarding plagiarism. The instructor may, for example, require the work to be redone, reduce the course grade, fail the student in the course, or refer the case to the Faculty-Student Disciplinary Committee (see Article 15.4 of the Bylaws of the Board of Trustees).

FERPA

Faculty are expected to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which affords students certain rights with respect to their education records.

Office of Accessibility

The office serves as a resource to faculty and staff and works to provide regular training opportunities, advisement, and consultation on equal access, compliance, delivery of equitable services, universal design and other disability-related issues.

Student Attendance

Faculty are expected to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the college’s student attendance policies, including Religious Beliefs and Class Attendance.
