Degree Programs

In these Evening/Weekend Associate Degree Programs, you can complete your degree requirements by attending classes, either part-time or full-time, exclusively on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday. This is an ideal opportunity for busy people juggling work and family responsibilities.

The Accounting Program (ACC) is designed to provide you with a strong preparation in accounting, business and liberal arts. You will be prepared for entry-level positions in the accounting field. A large percentage of students do choose to continue their education at four-year colleges in order to become certified public accountants (CPA). The Business Administration Program, administered by the Business Management Department, will give you a general education background and 12 credits in basic business. After completion of the program, students may transfer to a senior college or university to attain the baccalaureate degree in business. The Business Administration Program is suggested for those who want a strong liberal arts background, and who intend to continue their undergraduate education in business. The Business Management Program is a course of study leading to an A.A.S. degree. The coursework includes both general requirements (liberal arts courses) as well as curriculum requirements (business courses). In addition, each student takes elective courses in one of the following four areas of study: General Management, Finance & Banking, Marketing or Travel & Tourism. The Child Care/Early Childhood Education-Preschool/Elementary will provide you with a core of Liberal Arts courses as well as specialized courses in child care and early childhood education. You will find many career options in the field, including working directly with children in early childhood education settings such as child care centers and Head Start programs. The Computer Network Technology will prepare you to operate sophisticated, state-of-the-art computer equipment. You will be given in-depth instruction in JCL, telecommunications networks, and operating systems concepts. The Liberal Arts Program will give you a well-rounded background in the sciences, humanities, mathematics and languages. You will be able to continue on to a senior college after successful completion of the associate degree requirements. This program provides a variety of courses in many different areas, allowing you to take your time deciding upon a major area or specialization. Students who choose the general Liberal Arts Program are usually interested in preparing for careers in teaching, law, medicine, the humanities, the social sciences, counseling, journalism or other broad areas. The Nursing Department offers a program leading to the Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. after which you will be eligible to take the New York State Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing (RN). Nurses are in great demand and our students find many opportunities after graduating. The nursing field offers stability as well as flexibility in schedules. There are many specialties within the nursing field such as emergency room (ER) nursing, cardiac nursing, public health nursing, geriatric nursing and nurse anesthesiologist, to name a few.
