Center for Ethnic Studies
The Center for Ethnic Studies offers courses in the following areas:
Asian Culture (ASN), Africana Studies (AFN), Africana/ Latino Studies (AFL), Latino Studies (LAT).
The courses can be used to satisfy liberal arts requirements in literature, the social science disciplines, music and art or as electives. Courses in the Center for Ethnic Studies are articulated for transfer credit. The educational objectives of the courses include enhancement of critical thinking processes and refinement of written communication skills.
The pedagogical approach is interdisciplinary in concept. Students interested in subjects related to career, liberal arts or pre-professional programs should consult members of the faculty in the Center for Ethnic Studies.

An introduction to cultures of African nations through travel, reading, and lectures conducted at African colleges and universities.
Latin American and Carribean Society
An introduction to the culture of a country in Latin American in the Spanish Speaking Caribbean or to the cultures of a group of culturally related countries in the same area.
