How To Be Successful in a Distance Learning Course
Here are a few tips to help you thrive in an Online learning course:
- Keep up with the work. It's easy to let work slide when you don't have to show up in class, so you have to make sure to stay on top of it.
- Ask for help when you need it. Things go wrong in cyberspace. Your computer gives you trouble, the network doesn't work, e-mail goes astray. If something appears to be going wrong, make sure you reach out to someone-the instructor, the Help Desk, a classmate. Get help when you need it.
- Read documents carefully. Too often, we don't read carefully when we read on the screen, and this becomes our downfall. It may help to print out documents and underline them (the old fashioned way). Just because your class is in cyberspace doesn't mean you can't print assignments and readings and handle them as you would in a regular course.
