The Student Planner allows the user to create an academic schedule plan for the student. There are
two buttons at the top of the planner labeled Printable View and Edit Planner. The planner opens in
the Edit Planner view by default. Either view may be printed but the Printable View will produce a
cleaner document output. While the planner allows you to plan out an academic schedule for a student,
the courses entered on the Planner are not enforced by DegreeWorks or by the student system. The
Planner simply contains a list of recommendations to the student about which courses to take and the
sequence and term in which they are to be taken. It is the responsibility of the student to actually
register for the courses listed on the Planner.
The following describes each of the elements in the Planner, as shown in sample above:

Printable View
|
Printable View will produce a cleaner document output when printed.

Edit Planner
|
The planner opens in the Edit Planner view by default.

Catalog Year
|
The Catalog Year the student should be following.

Save Planner
|
Save Planner button saves all your changes. Student users will not
see this button when viewing the Planner.

Undo Changes
|
Undo clears any changes made to the planner during the current
session. Student users will not see this button when viewing the Planner.

Clear All
|
Clears the entire contents of the Student Planner. Please note that
if you open a previously saved planner then Clear All will just clear everything from the grid but
in order to save cleared Planner, you must click Save Planner button. Student users will not see
this button when viewing the Planner.

Process Audit
|
Once all course information is entered and you want to see how the
advised courses will be applied towards the degree requirements, you can click the box next to the
semester and click Process Audit.

Check All
|
This button will check all boxes next to all the semesters the
student has been advised for.

Uncheck All
|
This button will uncheck all boxes next to all the semesters the
student has been advised for.

Semester
|
The Planner contains a grid organized by academic semester. You can
type in the academic semester in the grey shaded fields along the top of the planner.

Courses
|
You can enter in courses for each academic semester in the fields
provided below the semester.

Additional Comments
|
The Planner allows Advisors to enter additional comments about the
student's intended academic schedule. Please be cautious about what you
enter as a comment as it will be available to everybody via the web.
