College Now Frequently Asked Questions

1. What do College Now students do?

Qualified students can take college level courses allowing them to get a jumpstart on their college careers. As a College Now student, you will be have a BMCC ID—giving you access to the college library, gym, and all our other campus resources.

2. Who else will be in my College Now class?

Depending on the type of course you choose to take, you can attend classes with CN students just like you, or take classes with regular undergraduate college-age students.

3. I go to school all day. When can I fit in College Now classes?

Because College Now is for full-time high school students, we set up our programs to work with your schedule. Classes and events take place before or after school, or on the weekend. Sometimes specialized classes are offered for high school credit that can be part of your regular day. We also offer summer options.

4. Where do I go for College Now classes?

Again this depends on the courses you take. Some are offered on our campus, and some might be offered right at your own school.

5. How many credits can I earn?

While you can participate in as many College Now events and workshops as you like, you are limited to earning 12 college credits total.

6. How much does College Now cost?

College Now is completely FREE. Tuition and books are all covered.

7. How do I apply to College Now?

If your high school has a College Now partnership with BMCC, contact your school’s CN liaison to find out what courses are available and what the requirements and deadlines are. If your high school does not have a College Now liaison, call us at (212) 346-8490 and we’ll help you get started.
