 BMCC has been generous to me. As a quoted advertisement states, "Start Here, Go Anywhere", the school has open its doors of opportunities to me and to the students who wish to achieve excellence. I feel privileged to share with my fellow College Discovery counterparts my formula for success. For me, the few words of importance are determination, dedication, and persistence. By entering college, we partially fulfill 'determination'. I am sure most of us would not be here today if we did not have a determined mind set to elevate ourselves. Then there is dedication. Instead of wasting time "chilling" or shopping, it is crucial that we prioritize our objectives for the day. Ask yourself: What should I be dedicated on today? What about the people who are dedicated but just don't seem to get the grades they "expect"? In this case, persistence plays a vital role in the formula. The enjoyment of victory is to know the amount of efforts you had to put in to win. And! as my favorite quote by LES Brown asserts, "Aim for the moon - Even if you miss, you'll hit the stars". With my equation in place, I have become a Dean's List student for 2 consecutive semesters, the recipient of the noble Money Works scholarship - funded by Merrill Lynch, and the Vice President of Scholarship in Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. I hope my system works for you - because there is no doubt, it did for me. Good luck and see you at the top!
