After graduating from BMCC, I attended New York University (NYU) where
I graduated with a B.S. in English Education. I was nominated for
a CCTOP scholarship by my College Discovery counselor to attend the
school of education at NYU. I was given more than $15,000 in scholarships
for the two years I attended. NYU accepted all of my BMCC credits.
After that I went to teach reading at a middle school. I taught for
three years, then left. Currently, I work as a logistics specialist
for the New York Army National Guard where I’m doing very well
and recently I was promoted to the rand of Staff Sergeant. I honestly
could not have done any those things with out the help and assistance
of my counselor. I owe my counselor tremendously. My counselor was
an inspiration to me during all my years at BMCC, a role model if
you will.
