Career exploration involves….

In addition, Career Development offers three assessments to assist in your career exploration. These assessments may not be appropriate for all students so take the time to learn about each and speak with an advisor by scheduling a pre-assessment appointment through Career Express. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Inventory, and the Pymetrics assessments provide an overview of personality, interests, and skills to better inform students in assessing their career paths.

1.Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory help individuals understand more about their personality type and identify interests, reactions, values, motivations, and skills. The goal of knowing about personality type is to identify and understand more about your strengths and weaknesses.

2.The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) gives insight into a person's interests, so that they may have less difficulty in deciding on an appropriate career choice for themselves.

3.Pymetrics assess cognitive and personality traits through quick neuroscience games. These games are based on big data, decades of neuroscience research and machine learning. The results are used to match students to companies that are looking for students with certain traits measured by the games. You can decide to take this assessment on your own or follow the instructions to meet with a career advisor.
