Join Us for an Afternoon with Flores Forbes, Author of Invisible Men.


In celebration of Black History Month, the Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC) invites you to a special presentation and discussion of the book Invisible Men: A Contemporary Slave Narrative in an Era of Mass Incarceration written by esteemed author Flores Forbes.

The book focuses on how African American men with criminal records often “hide in plain sight until they can remove the stigma of incarceration.” How do they manage to find success?

About Flores Forbes
Forbes is an Associate Vice President for Strategic Policy and Program Implementationan at Columbia University's Office of Communications and Public Affairs. His first book, Will You Die with Me?: My Life and the Black Panther Party, was published in 2007.

Signed copies of Invisible Men will be given to the first 20 people who attend this event. It is open to the public.
