Participants will harness the expressive power of their bodies to engage, move (with)in and out of constraints and expectations, communicate with one another, and build community. Curet draws on the traditions of historically oppressed peoples to show how movement can be a language and dance a powerful tool to fight oppression.
Led by Megan Curet, a dancer and choreographer who is director of the Curet Project as well as a BMCC alum, this workshop will explore creative movement in different systems and social circles.
This movement workshop requires no dance experience, just an open mind!
