Although research shows that women of color, specifically African American, Latina, and South Asian women, are disproportionately living with and dying from preventable chronic illness, less attention has focused on the activities and organizations that are changing the face of what it means to be fit and well within these populations.
Drs. Lesley Rennis (Health Education, BMCC) and Christine Thorpe (Human Services, NYC College of Technology) will host a Women's Wellness Forum to bring together the prevailing thought leaders engaging women of color in wellness activities.
