Business Student Clubs

Clubs meet on Wednesdays, from 2-4 p.m. Contact the Office of Student Activities for the meeting location of a particular club or if you have any other questions.

Note: Not every club is active every semester–it depends on student interest and involvement.

Business/Entrepreneurship Club

The Business Enterprise Club aims to help motivated students develop the skills necessary to have a competitive edge upon leaving BMCC through interactive workshops, successful guest speakers, and trips that allow the students to learn from the experiences of successful entrepreneurs and leading management. Our ultimate mission to contribute to the success of our students, providing them with the tools they need to succeed.

The Finance and Banking Club

The Finance and Banking Club in discussion format, covers economic and monetary policy:

  • From a theoretical perspective
  • From an historical perspective
  • And applies these ideas to current economic issues.

Diverse opinions, independent research and active participation are encouraged. Each year, during the fall semester, a team of students, participates in the academic College Fed Challenge Competition, sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States.

Teams of BMCC students associated with the club have distinguished themselves repeatedly in the College Fed challenge competition. This is the only academic activity in the college where in the last 10 years BMCC student teams have consistently excelled in an academic competition in the regional and national level. Most recently the BMCC student team won the first place in the College Fed Challenge in the Maiden Lane Division in 2021, 2020 and 2019 and as a result they have been invited repeatedly to the Federal Reserve headquarters in Washington, DC where they met and were honored by Chair Jerome Powell.

The Club also sponsors Career Opportunity seminars, open to all BMCC students, featuring BMCC graduates reflecting on how to start and develop a successful business career. The Club also organizes visits a variety of prominent financial institutions.

Faculty Advisors: Professors Julian Schroeder and Yanni Tournas provide PhD level intellectual rigor with real world business and financial industry experience.
