This program is for BMCC INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
with an F-1 visa and an I-20 from BMCC who want intensive instruction in all English skills, especially reading and writing, to prepare for college courses. You may choose to attend the BMCC Language Immersion for International Students if you are:
- a BMCC international freshman or transfer student who didn't pass the CUNY tests because English is not your first language
- an international ESL student who has been recommended by the ESL department, or is on academic probation
In this program you can dedicate yourself to learning English, particularly reading and writing.
You may choose to attend the BMCC Language Immersion for International Students (BLIIS) if you are:
- an international freshman or transfer student from BMCC (or from another CUNY college)
- an international ESL student who has been recommended by your ESL department, or is on academic probation, or has been academically dismissed.
Key Features:
- Students are prepared for college (reading, writing, listening, speaking. study skills)
- Intensive program: 22.5 hours a week
- Classes taught by experienced ESL college teachers who will give you individual attention
- Some students retake the CUNY tests in writing, reading, and math
- Daily computer lab for working on assignments and research
- Small classes: fewer than 15 students in a class

- BMCC advisement sheet
Schedule:
Classes meet 5 hours a day, Monday - Friday
From 1:15 PM to 5:45 PM for a total of 22.5 hours per week.
Fees:
$1,900 for the fall or spring semester
