Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have applied and been accepted to BMCC
  • Must have taken CUNY placement test
  • Must be fully skills proficient or require no more than 2 remedial courses across 2 subjects
  • Must be a New York City resident
  • Must enroll full time each semester
  • Must attend summer bridge program
  • Must  receive some need based financial aid (Pell and/or TAP)
  • Must be either first or second semester students with 15 or fewer credits and in good academic standing
  • Must attend all classes after 3pm Monday through Friday and/or anytime  Saturday and Sunday
  • Must be at least 24 years of age, or, if under 24, must have at least one dependent
  • May not be enrolled in College Discovery, Freshman Learning Academy, or any MDRC Research Study

ASAP Programs at BMCC

All majors are eligible for ASAP participation except
the following: Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Health
Information Technology, Paramedic, Forensic Science,
Engineering Science, Science, and Biotechnology must be exempt from math remediation.

Selection Process
For fall 2013, student must:
Attend an information session
Submit all required eligibility documents (proof of income, residency and a completed FAFSA)
Meet eligibility requirements
Complete an intake form
Meet with the Recruitment Coordinator
