Applying

For the spring and fall 2010 semesters, ASAP at BMCC will be part of a research study, conducted by CUNY and MDRC, a non-profit, non partisan education and social policy research organization based in Manhattan. Only students who are eligible and agree to be part of the study will have an opportunity to participate in ASAP at BMCC. Program slots are limited, and students will be selected using a lottery method. All students who have applied to Borough of Manhattan Community College and meet ASAP residency, credit and developmental course criteria will be contacted by mail and invited to an ASAP information session.

All majors are eligible to participate in ASAP for fall and spring 2010 EXCEPT the following: Pre-Clinical Nursing, Forensic Science, Engineering Science, Respiratory Therapy, Paramedic and Health Information Technology.

 

2010 ASAP Program requirements:

• Attend an ASAP institute
• Meet with your academic advisor at least 2 times each semester
• Attend all classes
• Meet with the employment specialist at least once a semester
• Attend weekly ACE101 workshops
• Attend at least one free ASAP enrichment event each semester
• Attend tutoring 2x/month if in a basic skills course
• Attend tutoring 1x/week if your GPA falls below 2.0
• Log into the ASAP Blackboard site once each week
• Return books within allotted time frame each semester
• Abide by ASAP Code of Civility
• Sign ASAP contract each semester
