Marcia Wood Windross, class of 1992
Marcia Wood Windross Wood is a Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Interpublic Group (IPG) leading the company’s vision to be the world’s most inclusive network of marketing services companies. She provides tailored Diversity and Inclusion solutions and strategic direction to IPG corporate and agencies on hiring, developing and retaining a diverse workforce.
Prior to Interpublic Group, she was the Senior Director of Human Resources and a member of the senior management team for Bowne Marketing and Business Communications (BMBC) and earlier worked at Citigroup’s Corporate College Relations, managing relationships with corporate focused schools and national organizations to attract talent into Citigroup’s leadership development programs. She then served as Vice President, Diversity Head for Citibank Commercial Business Group, where she led the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion strategies for Citigroup’s middle market businesses and approximately 5000 employees.
Marcia also spent many years in the Travel and Leisure industry, including 13 years at Cunard Cruise Line. She was also an Adjunct Lecturer at BMCC, where she taught Travel and Tourism in the Business Management Department.
She holds a Masters degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, Teachers College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New York University. Her college education started at Borough of Manhattan Community college with an AA degree in Business Management.
Marcia believes in giving back to her community and being of service to others. She serves on the AAF Mosaic Diversity Council, AAAA Diversity Council and the RADE Diversity Council. She has served on the board of the Jamaica YMCA in Queens and as an advisory board member of the NY Urban Financial Services Coalition, and mentors college students and young professionals.
