Miriam Añeses, BMCC Class of 1970

Miriam Añeses, BMCC Alumna Miriam Añeses is currently the director of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund's Fellowships for Aspiring Teachers of Color. She received an Associate in Applied Sciences from the Borough of Manhattan Community College in 1970 and went on to study Chinese at the United Nations and the China Institute in America in 1973 and 1974.

Ms. Añeses was program secretary at the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations from 1970 to 1984, coordinating the visits of Chinese delegations and study groups to the United States and traveling extensively with them. In 1979, she accompanied the Boston Symphony Orchestra on its first performance tour of China.

Ms. Añeses has been affiliated with the Rockefeller Brother’s Fund in several roles since 1984. She is a member of Grantmakers for Education and Hispanics in Philanthropy.
