Eligibility Requirements
You are eligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT)
if you:

1. Are currently maintaining F-1 status and have attended school full-time for the past nine academic months.
2. Have a job offer for Pre-Completion OPT. No job offer is required for Post-Completion OPT.
3. Will graduate within 90 days from the final semester at BMCC.
4. Have not previously used your full 12-months OPT benefit.
5. Have not used more than 12 months of full-time Curricular Practical Training

How to complete the application
In the event of an emergency:
Should you suddenly get a job offer, you may request "expeditious" or emergency processing of you application by submitting a letter from the employer with you application. Unfortunately, BMCC cannot guarantee that INS will respond to your request.
