Estimated Minimum Budget for an Academic Year at BMCC
Below is what we consider to be the minimum budget for an international student at BMCC for an academic year (nine months). Students who plan to stay in the U.S. during the summer (June/July/August) will need additional funds.

TUITION & FEES
(12 credits @ $210.00/credit)
$ 5,357.70
BOOKS & SUPPLIES $ 759.00
LOCAL TRAVEL TO & FROM SCHOOL $ 714.00
HOUSING & UTILITIES $7,416.00
FOOD
(including home and lunch)
$ 4,296.00

CLOTHING & PERSONAL
NECESSITIES
(including entertainment)

$ 2,004.30
TOTAL
(without free room and board)
$ 20,576.00

BMCC does not have dormitories. Students with friends or relatives in New York who will be providing them with free room and board must submit an Affidavit of Free Room and Board verifying sponsorship. Free room and board has a cash value of $7,416.00.

Therefore, if you have a sponsor who is giving you free room and board, your minimum budget for nine months should be:

TOTAL (with free room and board) $13,160.00

Students planning to bring a husband, wife, or child/children in an F-2 status, must show an additional $5,000 per year to support the spouse, and $3,000 per year for each child. You will need to adjust your minimum budget upwards.
