In remaining true to this focus, we have expanded our educational
programs with two uptown
locations in both Harlem and Washington Heights. Whether you want to take one course
or a full schedule of classes, BMCC's uptown location may
be the answer to your busy schedule.
Recognizing that many students lead very busy lives, BMCC
also offers an evening/weekend
program, so you can earn your associate's degree by taking
courses on Friday nights and weekends.
Also in line with this all-encompassing
vision, the college has created many special programs for
those previously underserved by traditional educational institutions.
One such program is our successful language
immersion initiative. This is an intensive program designed
to improve English- speaking skills. BMCC accommodates a diverse
body of international
students enrolled in this program.
BMCC's Center
forContinuing Education and Workforce Developement has
long devoted its efforts to helping people develop life skills.
It offers hundreds of non-credit courses in a wide range of
areas. Whether you are interested in computers, languages,
personal or professional development, or preparing for college,
you will find a course to suit your needs. In addition, BMCC
offers a number of computer certification programs. The Continuing
Education Department also works with companies to customize
training for their employees. These are just some of the reasons
why BMCC is educating the city.
