GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS*
To be eligible for graduation from BMCC, you must:
1. Successfully complete all the required courses and credits in your program of study;
2. earn at least a 2.0 GPA;
3. complete at least 30 credits in residence, if you are an advanced standing student;
4. submit an application for graduation to the Registrar’s Office at the time that you register for your graduating semester;
5. pass CUNY Writing Assessment Test;**
6. pass CUNY Proficiency Exam (CPE)

*Your Graduation semester will be the end of the semester in which you finish all of your course work or file for graduation, whichever is later. Graduation requirements are subject to change without notice any time at the discretion of the administration and the Board of Trustees of the City University of New York.
**Effective Fall 1999 all new first time freshmen admitted to a degree program are required to pass the CUNY Proficiency Examination (CPE) to graduate from associate degree programs, transfer into a senior college and advance from the lower division to the upper division of a senior college. In addition, effective Fall 2000 all transfer students entering degree programs are required to pass the CUNY Proficiency Examination (CPE).

The University will administer the CUNY Proficiency Examination (CPE) at the colleges several times each year. For information concerning the examination, students should consult the CPE web site or the college's Testing office.
