Executive Director of Public Affairs Barry Rosen

Barry Rosen, Executive Director of Public Affairs, has a long career in public relations, publications, and public affairs. He started his professional career in the Voice of America and was a Foreign Service officer assigned to Soviet Central Asia and Iran.

He was Assistant to the President of Brooklyn College and headed the Office of Public Relations at that senior CUNY college. In 1995 he became the Executive Director of Public Relations at Columbia University’s Teachers College where his office initiated the early development of the Teachers College web site .

In 2006, Mr. Rosen assumed his current position at BMCC and has overseen the expansion of content in the form of college news stories in video format. He and his team have also redesigned the BMCC Web site, provided added content to BMCC’s academic departments on the web, enriched the content of the college’s alumni newsletter, and are marketing the college through the internet.

Mr.Rosen holds a BA from Brooklyn College/CUNY in Political Science, a Master of Arts in Public Affairs from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs, and a Master of Philosophy from Columbia University's Middle East Languages and Cultures Department.
