| INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYERS |
| Why hire an intern? |
| Our interns are a source of motivated employees. Interns receive
training in the majors of Accounting, Business Management, Computer
Information Systems, Corporate and Cable Communications, Liberal Arts,
Multimedia Programming and Design, Office Administration, and Small
Business/Entrepreneurship learning the skills that businesses can
use. |
| Our Internship Coordinators work with employers to find interns
with the right skills and schedules. Payroll costs are reduced by
hiring an intern. Recruitment costs are reduced because there is
no charge for hiring interns. |
| The best time to recruit an intern is before the semester begins.
We offer internships in the Fall (August), Spring (January) and Summer
(May) semesters. |
| Role of the Employer: |
| The employer is expected to provide the student with an opportunity
to use the skills developed in their major course of study. Students
are expected to work 15 hours a week for the length of the semester. Employers
must provide the college with an internship job description and an
evaluation upon completion of the internship. Interns are carefully
screened by our faculty and employers are under no obligation to accept
any students referred to them. |
