• Integration
• Industry Best Practices
• Standardization without loss of identity

• Accurate and timely information to better serve students, faculty and staff
• Replacement of aging computer systems
Everyone, from the students to the faculty and staff, will be positively affected by CUNYfirst, and everything from Student Administration to Human Resources and Finance Information will upgraded. How we at CUNY do everything—from registering for classes to paying our bills—will be changed for the better.
Under this new integration, our student’s records will connect to the systems that run our businesses, as well as the systems that keep personnel records of our faculty and staff. It has always been the goal of CUNY to provide the best customer service to our students, staffers, community, and CUNYfirst will comply with the procedures and standards to continually meet this common goal.
CUNYfirst applications will replace older systems like SIMS and CUPS, helping us streamline and standardize many of the things we do at our colleges. FIRST represents the City University of New York’s project to implement the Oracle/Peoplesoft ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) set of applications to all members of the CUNY family from students to faculty to staff.
CUNYfirst will be implemented in phases. Business, HR and academic structures will be created first, with enhancements and new modules being added in the coming years. Our main systems for human resources and student administration are a generation old, and have reached their capacity. CUNYfirst will be a modern upgrade on our main technology systems.
CUNYfirst is the largest software project ever undertaken by CUNY, and we are committed to making it a successful implementation at our college to improve all administrative operations and better serve our students.
